How it all began….

victoriaThe Keepsake Co. is owned and managed by Victoria Crockett. Victoria started selling baby hand and foot casting kits about 5 years ago as a part time venture. The idea came to her when she started looking for a way to display some jewellery she had made at a local craft fair. She thought if she could cast her hands then she could make a wonderful and original display and would attract a lot of interest. After a lot of research she found some kits in America which allowed you to cast your hands in buckets, they also sold kits to cast baby’s hands and feet. A close friend of Victoria’s had just had a baby so as well as ordering a couple of casting kits for her own needs she ordered a couple for her friend too.

When the kits arrives she asked her friend over for lunch and they cast baby Millie’s hands and feet – creating wonderful results first time. Victoria was so excited at this new product that she ordered a bulk supply and started selling them online! Without much work the kits started to sell online quickly so her attention moved from the jewellery making onto the casting kit sales.

Although the kits were being well received there were some problems – from bits missing from the kits through to unpredictable quantities and quality. Victoria became frustrated by these issues as her number one aim is to provide excellent customer service and with less than perfect products this wasn’t being achieved.

Victoria started researching ingredients and materials and managed to find UK suppliers for all components and then created her own kits. She has never looked back. Over the years she has developed kits with bases, frames and has now diversified into other keepsake techniques making The Keepsake Co. the largest keepsake supplier in the UK. There are a few competitors who follow our lead but we have to see this as flattering and continue to focus on the future and all the other exciting products we have planned!
